Software Engineering Manager, Enterprise Supervision

Tyler Technologies is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Manager to join the Enterprise Supervision team. In this role, you will:
  • Guide and support a talented team of software engineers in creating scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with other engineering managers and product leaders to ensure development projects align with business priorities.
  • Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in software engineering, leadership experience, and a passion for developing others.
Travel: 10% - between Modesto, CA and Plano, TX offices
Responsibilities
  • As a leader, you will oversee all aspects of softwaredevelopment. Your team will consist of professionals in analysis, engineering, and quality assurance, some of whom may be remote.
  • Your team will interact with peer groups such as architecture/platform operations, product management, and support.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of Agile development methodologies.
  • Implement and oversee DevOps practices to streamline the software development lifecycle.
  • Work with peers to balance development roadmap projects vs. escalation of operational issues.
  • Contribute to a strategy of year-over-year improvement to the product and evolution of the underlying platform.
  • Identifyand implement Key Performance Indicators for measuring and improvingteameffectiveness.
  • Communicate and drive internal work to meetdeliverables.
  • Coachyourteam for employee growth and development.
  • Perform staff evaluations.
  • Recommend and contribute to process improvement initiatives including but not limited to product enhancements, internal/externaleducation,and processes.
  • Commit to expandingyourtechnological skills and maintaining advanced knowledge of the Corrections Solutions products.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership role within software development is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of solid experience in implementing large-scale web applications using the following technologies is required:
    • PHP, NodeJs
    • CI/CD Pipelines
    • MySQL
    • jQuery, CSS, JavaScript
    • Restful APIs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Ability to make sound, effective and timely decisions along with the ability to solve problems involving complex issues.
  • Ability to negotiateand partnerinternally and externally, with those who are both technical and non-technical.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles
  • Experience with an Agile product development framework such as Scrum is required.
  • A solid understanding of SDLC principles and methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

State-Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements

Salary will generally fall between $89,027 - $120,000 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
