This role reports into to the Global Marketing Team, which is responsible for all the trade shows around the world as well as supplying new demo software and hardware equipment to meet the demo marketing needs. The candidate will be responsible for support of engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital circuits, and logic systems. The candidate will work with CAD drawings, schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to design, fabricate, modify and trouble-shooting functions. The ideal candidate would be somebody who has a strong and broad skillset with hand-on experience who is able to use in-house machine tools to fabricate, produce and assemble custom fixtures and equipment. This person should have a strong ability to problem solving dealing with on demand daily projects. The candidate will have an opportunity to discover and learn all the products that Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company has to offer to our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and fabricates custom equipment and fixtures for marketing needs.
  • Supports engineering team with developing and ongoing projects.
  • Customize existing show hardware equipment to minimize installation time and shipping cost.
  • Maintain existing hardware machines, equipment and tooling.
  • Attend trade shows / conferences, set up the devices (computers, machines) and all sales, marketing systems. Provide technical support to leadership team, sales team, and marketing team during events.
  • Attend no less than 5 tradeshows in person each year.

Requirements:

  • Location: San Francsico Bay Area
  • Global travel for work {estimated at 25%}
  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, push, pull up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to climb the ladder and be comfortable with the height
  • Must have broad hands-on skillset and strong ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work with mechanical and electrical tools.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently to deliver high quality results.
  • Ability to collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical and Software teams.
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred: Experience with reading CAD drawings and design
  • Preferred: Experience with sheet metal, machining and welding
  • Preferred: Experience with SolidWorks and/or Creo

The base pay range for this position is

Min $56,000 - Max $95,600

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
