Job Description

DDN's Next Generation Data Services Platform is a game changing data management platform which will offer an intelligent resource management and orchestration layer, real time analytics capabilities, and an intuitive mobile-device-era user experience.

We are looking for a hands-on Staff Software Engineer who will help design and build our data management platform.

They have created, architected and pioneered numerous advancements in data enabling technologies, and delivered ground breaking ideas which have shaped and transformed the storage industry.

What will you bring to DDN

    10+ years development experience, with recent experience in Go, Python or C++
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining complex software components from scratch
  • Distributed systems engineering experience, with working knowledge of containers, key/value databases and timeseries data
  • A strong conceptual understanding of filesystems, block and object storage
  • Experience with hardware management interfaces such as IPMI and Redfish are a plus
  • Advanced skill in Linux, including networking, filesystems and block storage
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams
  • A culture of innovative thinking and delivery

What you have achieved...

  • Recognised experience designing distributed systems
  • Experience developing REST API/CLIs for storage or computation resources management a plus
  • Strong testing skills to ensure new feature and regression coverage
  • Ability to both operate and make progress independently
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams
  • Deep understanding of Storage Design Thinking (ideation, prototyping, testing, design frameworks and concept visualization)

What will you be doing

  • Participate in the design and development of our Data Services and Software Defined Storage solution
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design challenges and user scenarios
  • Within the Scrum model, participate in full product development lifecycle including planning, design, code, test, usability reviews, release and maintenance
