This individual will have a passion for all things Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and engender true partnership across teams as we build on Bloomberg Industry's group history in AI development to continuing growing of our best-in-class business products.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee a talented ML team as you drive, design & develop ML projects as the principal point-of-contact.
Collaborate with domain experts and product managers to understand business needs and map business problems to ML Problems.
Ensure that the latest research and advanced developments in ML & NLP are properly incorporated into our roadmaps.
Develop tailored ML/AI prediction models.
Understand our products role in supporting our customers and ensure we implement the best technical approach to provide solutions for maximum impact.
Ability to identify and hire top talent, and provide inspiration, guidance, and mentoring to team.
Work closely with Bloomberg Industry Group engineering leadership and partnership groups to coordinate technical and resource planning, strategy and delivery.
Lead projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Demonstrated expertise and leadership in ML & AI technology, LLM tuning including deep learning, embedding, natural language processing, and supervised & unsupervised learning.
Experience in all phases of machine learning application lifecycles from problem mapping and scoping to data gathering and preparation to optimizing model performance.
Experience with modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Solid understanding of latest, industry-leading coding languages, data structures, and other related technologies.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and the full software development life cycle.
Ability to meet deliverables leading engineering teams in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and rapidly evolving business needs.
Ability to develop and obtain buy-in on a technical vision that complements and enhances the business strategy.
Education and Experience:
Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), Statistical Models, and Text Analytics on large data sets
A MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field of study (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum 5+ years of technical leadership experience
Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.
