Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Engineer/Electrician to join our team in a Life Sciences Account role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution and maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment within the facility. The role requires expertise in electrical systems troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. The Building Engineer/Electrician will contribute to ensuring optimal operation and functionality of the facilities, with a particular focus on meeting the unique requirements of life sciences facilities.
Responsibilities:
Perform electrical maintenance and repairs:
Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, controls, and equipment within the facility.
Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to optimize equipment performance and reduce potential downtime.
Respond promptly to emergency situations and equipment failures, and take appropriate corrective actions.
Ensure compliance and safety:
Comply with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelines related to electrical systems and equipment.
Proactively identify potential electrical hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist with safety inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders:
Communicate effectively with facility management and other team members to ensure proper coordination and scheduling of maintenance activities.
Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized electrical repairs or projects.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical systems to internal and external stakeholders.
Documentation and record-keeping:
Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventory.
Track and document changes, upgrades, and modifications made to electrical systems.
Assist in generating reports and analysis related to electrical systems maintenance and performance.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or technical training in electrical systems preferred.
Valid electrician's license and/or certification in relevant field.
Proven experience as a Building Engineer/Electrician within life sciences facilities or similar highly regulated environments.
Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and codes/regulations.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, meters, and testing equipment.
Familiarity with automated building systems and ability to interface with Building Management Systems (BMS) is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
