What You'll Do:

  • Manages the daily operation of the Plant Maintenance and Repairs team.
  • Ensures ready mix concrete production facilities are operational to include wet and dry batch plants, cement silos, conveyors, aggregate storage, air compressors, concrete reclaimers, slurry water pumps, electric motors, gear drives; etc.
  • Responsibility is in the greater Bay Area and Sacramento for 37 RMC batch plant facilities
  • Understands electrical schematics and is able to troubleshoot electrical circuits up to and including 480VAC
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation of service records and reports.
  • Ensures facilities are operational by scheduling maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Controls, maintains and reports all repair parts and material inventories.
  • Manages the daily operation of the heavy duty repair shop including overseeing the work of mechanics.
  • Maintains documentation of stationary equipment service records including routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Responsible for the purchasing and inventory of parts and supplies for the stationary equipment.
  • Works to ensure purchases of parts and supplies stay within the annual budget. This includes securing the most competitive price for a quality product and receiving discounts on trade-ins.
  • Involved in the hiring and disciplining of employees. This includes communication with the Area Manager and Human Resources Director and documenting the results.
  • Properly maintains time records and files of hourly employees supervised.
  • Works with the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to ensure that all safety features of the stationary equipment are properly working and effective.
  • Assists management in the purchase of stationary equipment by reviewing specifications, testing the equipment, making recommendations, etc.
  • Adequately trains employees supervised on new procedures, processes, equipment features, etc.
  • Respond in a timely manner when problems with production facilities occur.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

  • Must have five years minimum ready mix concrete batch plant management experience.
  • Must be able to take direction.
  • Must be able to follow instructions.
  • Must have the ability to work with others.
  • Must have the ability to keep to a schedule.
  • Must have regular and reliable attendance.
  • Must have the ability to focus on details.

Communication. Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, financial reports and legal documents as necessary. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, customers and the general public. Ability to communicate technical concepts and thoughts to management.

Mathematical Skills. Ability to apply moderately complex mathematical equations as applicable.

Reasoning Ability. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Salary Range. The base salary range for this role is between $100,000 - $120,000 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
