ABOUT THE JOB


Tepa Companies is seeking a Project Geologist to provide technical expertise in environmental investigations and remediation, including site characterization, soil and groundwater sample collection, mapping groundwater elevations, developing geologic cross-sections, logging soil borings, IDW management, monitoring well installation oversight, and reporting. As an Geologist, you will work on multiple projects, maintain project schedules, and complete work safely and in accordance with approved work planning documents. You will also coordinate with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies and internal staff.


Job responsibilities include:

  • Site characterization of PFAS contaminated sites and development of conceptual site models (CSMs)
  • Deliver qualitative and quantitative interpretation of subsurface conditions to support characterizing flow and contaminant migration pathways and assess impacts to remediation efforts
  • Manage the preparation of work planning documents and associated deliverables
  • Perform geologic field investigations, mapping, and other data collection activities
  • Manage subsurface field geologic site characterization tasks including drilling, synoptic well gauging, and test pit explorations
  • Design field data collection efforts and provide environmental data management, interpretation, and reporting deliverables
  • Review geologic samples and geologic unit identification, assign laboratory testing and prepare reports
  • Provide direction on the installation of soil borings and monitoring wells
  • Lead field sampling teams to complete long term monitoring activities, including groundwater sampling and site inspections
  • Conduct after action reports, remedial action completion reports, groundwater monitoring reports, site investigation reports and other data deliverables

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR


  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology
  • 5-10 year of experience practicing geology or involvement with environmental investigation or remediation
  • Licensed PG
  • Experience with mid-size, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Specialized computer skills including database applications, AutoCAD, GIS, groundwater modeling, and gINT
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Experience in successful leadership of field sampling teams
  • Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency and attention to detail with track record of high quality work products
  • Demonstrated performance of independent analysis and demonstrated strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
  • Strong personal safety awareness
