Role Description

We are looking for a creative and diligent systems architect to play an integral role in the development of architectural requirements and specifications for our product, from system-to-cell level. You will work on a wide variety of technical evaluations, modeling, and analysis activities to define the architecture of Form's long duration storage battery. You will tie together product requirements, functional requirements, compliance, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and validation testing using a thoughtful and collaborative process. This role requires a broad understanding of engineering disciplines, spanning mechanical, electrical, controls, and battery engineering.

What you'll do:
  • Co-build and maintain the overall structure and documentation systems for requirements, from system-level to battery cell-level.

  • Drive reconciliation of key functional requirements and specifications among various stakeholders through thoughtful, data- and analysis-driven collaboration

  • Help build and drive a failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) process that continuously feeds FMEA learnings into functional requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineers in compliance analysis, system interface definitions, and associated requirements definition.

  • Engage with our test team on verification & validation (V&V) test plans to ensure comprehensive coverage of requirements.

  • Collaborate with domain experts and modeling groups to help scope, execute, and communicate the results of trade studies that inform architecture decisions.

What you'll bring:
  • 7+ years direct experience in battery systems development

  • Strong systems engineering background and proficiency in one or more requirements management tools (Jama, Polarion, or similar)

  • Ability to quickly gain a working knowledge of a wide range of technical details spanning multiple disciplines, from electrochemistry to mechanical engineering

  • Experience with architectural modeling software such as Simulink System Composer, Cameo, No Magic, or similar

  • Ability to communicate technical detail at multiple levels, for multiple audiences, across multiple disciplines

  • Highly organized and highly attentive to details
