The Sr. Opto-Mechanical engineer at DRS Daylight Solutions will be part of an engineering team developing novel laser components and transitioning them into products. Incumbent will perform analysis, modeling, design, prototyping and testing of laser diode based lasers and systems. This person will be responsible for requirement flow-down, optical design, mechanical design, interface with critical component suppliers, planning and execution of integration and test. They should have a strong understanding of robust opto-mechanical design practices including precision mechanism, kinematics, lasers, and thermal control. Working with a multi-disciplinary design team, they will execute on optical and mechanical modeling, prototyping, calculations, FEA (including STOP analysis), and testing.
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD Secret-level security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
The expected pay scale for this position is $113,385/year - $176,030/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
