Responsibilities

The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim.

    This will include a forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings.
  • The SANE is expected to follow protocols established by the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE program for which the SANE is employed.
  • The SANE is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  1. Current and valid state RN license.
  2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  3. Complete the initial state SANE/SART training.
  4. Complete the initial and on-going preceptor requirements as identified by the SANE/SART program
  5. Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months and maintain current annually

Pay Rate : $54.23

Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
