YOU

As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facility, including offices, bathrooms, break rooms and plant. Effectively clean and sanitize using appropriate chemicals and application methods.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Clean offices, restrooms, break rooms, locker areas, outdoor break areas, and shop floor. Duties include picking up debris, restocking supplies, cleaning and sanitizing toilets, sinks and surfaces, cleaning windows and mirrors, dusting and removing cobwebs, cleaning drink dispensers and microwaves, and floor care. Ensure drains are working properly or unclog as needed. Clean water dispensers, fountains and eye wash areas. Know and use chemicals safely, follow instructions and wear appropriate PPE. (40%)

Remove trash and recyclables from plant, office and cafeteria area. Separate recyclables and put trash in compactor. Utilize forklift, electric and manual pallet jacks as needed. Operate compactor and cardboard bailer, processing waste, including plastic, wood and metal. (30%)

Maintain floor care, including sweeping, mopping and scrubbing tile floors and vacuuming and cleaning carpeted floors. Use of power wash for outside break areas. (10%)

Clean windows and window sills. (10%)

Keep inventory of supplies and order when necessary. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification (will certify at hire) required.
  • 3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Safety: Able to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practices by promoting a safe work environment.
  • Communication skills: Speaks in the most effective way to relay information. Listens and asks questions to ensure understanding.
  • Self-management skills: Uses time efficiently to complete tasks.
  • Equipment and tools: Operate forklift, electric pallet jack and compactor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear.This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment. The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, fumes and/or noxious odors, toxic/caustic chemicals, dust, loud noise levels and moving mechanical parts.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires no domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Stockton, CA.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$19.50 / hour

Pay includes a Swing shift differential.
