What You Will Do:

Gannett Fleming focuses on providing the highest quality of vertical transportation consulting services from design and engineering for new installations and modernizations, to maintenance oversight and contract enforcement of the life of the vertical transportation equipment for our clients. We provide a wide range of consulting services from condition assessments to complex design projects. Our experience is in new design, modernization, and maintenance oversight in markets such as Transit, Aviation, Federal/State and Local Governments, Industrial, and Commercial.

Gannett Fleming is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager for the Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as Assistant Project Manager for elevator/escalator/moving walk projects as part of an engineering team.
  • Assists the Project Manager with general project management activities, including monitoring and controlling scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the effort of preparing a thorough and effective Technical Design for each project.
  • Support the Project Manager on technical design management while pro-actively engaging with other disciplines to ensure a coordinated cohesive project design.
  • Applies planning and design manuals and guidelines to determine functional requirements for design drawings and documents.
  • Trains in and assists in preparing technical reports or sections of larger multidisciplinary reports.
  • Develops effective communication and working relationship with the client.
  • Assists the Project Manager so the work product complies with Quality requirements.
  • Maintain current project documentation in a timely manner.
  • Trains in and assists in performing in-depth safety inspections to meet code and special requirements including construction, investigative, and acceptance inspections.
  • Trains in and assists in bidding and construction oversight phases including reviewing shop drawings and product info, responding to request for information, and maintaining the submittal log.
  • Trains in and assists in the oversight of contractor work progress in the field to ensure contract construction requirements are met.
  • Assists in business development efforts and supports client relationships.
Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related construction field.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Analysis and Problem Solving.
  • Planning and Organizational Skill Set.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and ability to stay focused in a fast-paced, rapid development environment and most importantly a desire to learn this focused discipline.
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Train to become a Certified Elevator Inspector.
