Summary

Responsible for overseeing the end- to-end quality of: process, systems usage, equipment set-up and utilization management, operations, customer service and financial transactions across multiple, assigned locations. Oversees scheduling accuracy and execution timeliness of the transportation of products. Maintains favorable customer and carrier relationships. Tasked with process improvement and leading projects that evolve the business and ensure our competitive positioning in the transportation space.

Essential Functions

Directly supervises and oversees the day-to-day operations of a group of employees across multiple locations, ensuring a smooth, timely and quality workflow.

Works with internal and external customers, carriers, and processor personnel to coordinate freight from one origin to a destination.

Primary contact for our Sales team and responsible for organizing and facilitating all end-to-end activities required to execute new business operationally and systematically.

Estimates personnel needs and ensures adequate staffing to meet customer demands.

Serves as the primary point of contact for customer disputes and escalation.

Provides technical and process guidance on the complex issues.

Assigns, monitors, and reviews the progress and accuracy of assigned work.

Handles unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refers to the appropriate individual.

Directs and coordinates process improvement activities and projects to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

Communicates and interprets overall organizational directives and applies them to Team and individual objectives.

Monitors and ensures achievement of goals, objectives, and timelines.

May perform the duties of subordinates when needed.

Monitors the effectiveness of systems, policies, and procedures and makes appropriate recommendations to ensure daily operations are efficient; implements approved changes.

Maintains satisfactory attendance, including timeliness.

Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff.

Conducts performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustments; schedules and approves overtime; takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or State-issued equivalency.

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years logistics, agriculture, customer service, &/or operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of G3 operations and/or agriculture experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency and 7 years of logistics, agriculture, accounts payable/receivable, customer service, &/or operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency and 6 years of G3 operations and/or agriculture experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint at an intermediate level.

Required to travel 20% of the time.

Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver's license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.

Required to work an off-shift (swing or graveyard) when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration or supply chain management.

4 years of transportation experience focused on moving agricultural products.

Prior transportation billing experience.

Experience with leading a high-performance team of direct reports and providing motivation to achieve plan goals.

Skilled using SAP and/or Oracle Transportation Management software experience at a proficient level.

Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, or co-workers.

Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

Compensation

  1. Hiring Salary Range: $73,700 - $ 92,100.
  2. Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
