The Global Privacy Office ('GPO') delivers global policies, standards, and practices and partners with teams across Capital Group (CG) to implement the required controls to ensure our handling of individuals' personal information complies with regulations and supports the continued trusted relationships with our customers, partners, and associates.

As the Global Privacy Manager, you will report to the Head of the GPO. You will be responsible for managing a team of associates in providing privacy expertise to CG business functions. The Global Privacy Manager will manage the execution of the global privacy strategy, policies, and practices that protect the collection, use, and disclosure of our clients, associates, and prospect personal information. In our highly regulated and complex business environment, you will also be responsible for advising on the business impacts of global data protection/privacy laws and regulations. Every day, you'll partner with cross-functional teams to identify risks and gaps in our process, advise on legal requirements and best practices, and translate that into clear guidance and actionable steps. You'll be an ambassador for privacy-forward initiatives and priorities within the business teams and senior leadership.

  • You have extensive experience managing privacy, legal, risk, or related programs within a large complex global organization. Financial services industry experience is a plus.
  • You are comfortable navigating a highly matrixed and complex corporate environment and collaborating across many stakeholders and groups to accomplish a goal.
  • You're a proven manager and skilled communicator. You place a high value on being authentic, respectful and engaging. You've facilitated a variety of successful meetings ranging in size, with diverse audiences.
  • You embody our core values and can motivate and develop a high performing team. This will include coaching, mentoring, identifying stretch opportunities, assigning work and managing performance.
  • You are passionate about privacy regulations and data protection matters. You strive to take a practical approach in applying these regulations and making the requirement tangible.
  • You have a strong foundational knowledge in privacy related technology and in delivering metrics that demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of privacy programs.


Southern California Base Salary Range: $148,045-$236,872

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
