We have an exciting opportunity for a mid-level professional as a Electronic Mechanical Technician & Integration 3 to join our Kontron Family! Under limited supervision, this individual is capable of performing all tasks required to build a wide variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. Follows defined methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, cable and harness assembly, subassemblies, chassis and racks. Documents and interprets test results. Capable of performing repair and replacement of defective components and performing defect trend analysis.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs tests and calibrates parts to meet tolerances and product specifications
  • Ability to troubleshoot assemblies, sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to the component level.
  • Must be proficient in the use of a wide variety of electronic test equipment and have the ability to learn how to use new tools or equipment quickly
  • Ability to run Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Automated Test Procedures (ATP) from engineering documents
  • Capable of performing "proof tests" for new or revised test procedures and recommend enhancements to the procedure.
  • Requires knowledge of computer operating systems (i.e. Windows, Unix, Linux, etc.) and have intermediate level knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software conflicts.
  • May assist Engineering with document development
  • Responsible for maintaining logs and data sheets and insuring test procedures are to the latest revision. May create test logs as deemed necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management that could include assembly of fabricated parts, subassemblies or complete units
  • Must be able to read blueprints and follow manufacturing assembly instructions
  • Must be familiar with a variety of industry concepts, practices, procedures and workmanship standards
  • Upgrade and repair hardware as well as record data and research hardware issues
  • Ability to perform simple failure mode effect analysis and formally document the results.
  • Ability to provide feedback to QA and department supervision of any observed trends, unusual failure conditions or exceptions to accepted Standards
  • Will aid and train less experienced personnel
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production assemblers, QA/QC inspectors, engineers, program managers, stock handlers, buyers, and other operations personnel.
  • This individual may support Engineering by building First Article Assemblies and document the processes. This individual may be required to perform special tests working from instructions or unreleased documentation.
  • At times may be called upon to assist Test Engineering or other engineering departments needing technical assistance.


Requirements

  • A S. degree or Bachelors in Electronics /Computer Science/ military schools and/or up to 5 years plus equivalent work experience.
  • Job training in a test environment using test equipment and applying troubleshooting techniques desired.
  • Experience with computers is required.
  • Experience with Windows environment and Microsoft Office products are desired.
  • Experience with Local Area Networks (LANs), network interface boards, routers and other related hardware is desirable.
  • Experience or training in computer programming or software troubleshooting is desired.

Salary Description
$25.00hr- $27.00/hr
