Running Snowflake in public sectors in different countries and regions, even in different industry verticals, requires us to build a compliant, secure, and auditable infrastructure. Many key design decisions are deeply rooted in the Snowflake product architecture. As a senior engineering manager, you will be responsible for leading several key areas and collaborating with various engineering groups in addition to the Regulatory & Sovereign Cloud team. To be successful as a lead in the area, you will need to have (and continue to build) a broad and in-depth knowledge base on cloud infrastructure, data security, privacy, and governance, and data residency in various aspects of Snowflake.

AS A SENIOR ENGINEERING MANAGER - REGULATORY & SOVEREIGN CLOUD AT SNOWFLAKE YOU WILL:
  • Lead the team to drive projects from idea formulation, to design, and to implementation.
  • Drive great partnership with the product management team.
  • Set team strategy and be accountable for team plans and deliverables.
  • Grow and build a strong, healthy, and diverse team through hiring as well mentoring and coaching.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams and cross functional teams.
  • Provide strong technical leadership to the team and partner teams.
  • Build the vision for the team along with product management.
  • Lead highly impactful initiatives from idea formulation to design and implementation.
  • Ensure operational readiness of the services and meet the commitments to our customers regarding security, reliability, availability, and performance.
OUR IDEAL SENIOR ENGINEERING MANAGER - REGULATORY & SOVEREIGN CLOUD WILL HAVE:
  • 7+ years of software engineering management experience leading and scaling teams.
  • 15+ years industry experience designing, building and supporting large-scale distributed systems in production.
  • Strong track record of managing engineering teams.
  • Strong fundamental computer science skills.
  • Knowledge of database fundamentals.
  • Fluency in one or more object oriented programming.
  • Deep multi-faceted appreciation in building end-to-end customer facing products.
  • Experience driving company initiatives towards customer satisfaction.

This position may require access to data that is subject to legal access restrictions. Employment in this role is subject to legal restrictions and is contingent on Snowflake verifying that the candidate may legally access the required data, which may include, but is not limited to, U.S. export-controlled technologies and technical data as well as various forms of government data subject to U.S. federal and state laws and regulations. Time is of the essence to fill this role, and Snowflake may choose not to pursue an export control license or other requirements.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $235,000 - $368,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
