How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Air Liquide Turbo Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the
engineering department resources and associated activities, from proposal phase
through to the successful commissioning of the units at the end customers jobsite,
ensuring compliance with applicable standards and best practices. The Engineering
Manager should provide strategic leadership in the execution of projects, participate in
the development of new innovations and always look to streamline and continuously
improve processes with a competitiveness mindset, including working with other affiliates to deliver the best solutions for our customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Meet or exceed the company's safety standards

* Comply with E&C Global and Local engineering, industry and safety standards

* Manage, direct and coordinate engineering activities and operations, including interfacing with Design Authorities and Overall Design Authorities for technical validation as appropriate.

* Able to provide accurate forecasts, monitor resource loading and utilization.

* Excellent people skills with the ability to manage and motivate technical personnel

* Recruit talent to build up the department capabilities

* Work closely with other E&C entities on new solution needs.

* Provide support and lead the engineering team managing and prioritizing their tasks.

* Ensure both service and product quality in all aspects of ALT's offerings.

* Assessing technical offers for main equipment

* Taking part in the elaboration of the operating manual of the new product.

* Coordinate and support field service issues.

* Maintain/Develop testing procedures to document performance of the equipment and provide test data to support field service, sales and marketing.

* Participate in and oversee new product development through design, build and test.

* Participating in Design Reviews (Process Design Basis meeting, PFD review, PID review, HAZOP)

* Ability to travel periodically, both domestically and internationally (<15%)

EDUCATION

* B.S in Mechanical Engineering

* EIT (Engineer In Training) or PE (Professional Engineer) license is preferred

EXPERIENCE

* Preferably 5+ years' experience in rotating equipment and manufacturing thereof * Minimum of 5 years of management experience.

* Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team to achieve goals.

* Good understanding of various equipment/ instrumentation used in cryogenic plants

* Good understanding of control logic

* Ability to make decisions with limited input and limited information on hand

* Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines.

* Ability to provide both technical and personnel leadership

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Good knowledge in aerodynamics and fundamental fluids theory

* Mechanically minded, with experience in the development and design of rotating equipment, preferably cryogenic turbines.

* Knowledge with Aerodynamic and Mechanical simulation tools is a plus

* Well established knowledge in Thermodynamics

* Experience of work in a multicultural environment is an asset

* Ability to apply lessons learned from the previous products into new systems.

* Critical thinker, with the ability to solve complex issues

* Proficient with Google and Microsoft Suites (Sheets/Excel, Gmail/Outlook, Slides/Powerpoint etc.)


The annual base salary range for this position in California is $175,000 - $185,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Air Liquide considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
