Job Description
The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for conducting audits of HR processes to ensure compliance and support within the HR team. This person oversees and leads benefit administration management- coordination with our benefit broker, coordinates and manages all aspects of employee benefits, to include, but not limited to health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending account plans, employee assistance program (EAP), leaves of absences and 401(k) administration. Ensures compliance with and reporting requirements as mandated by state and federal laws. Maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers. Senior Human Resources Generalist supports employee relations by facilitating and managing employee relations on behalf of the company.

They maintain positive employee relationships and ensure compliance with employment laws. The successful Senior Human Resources Generalist accurately manage transactional aspects of HR such as legal/compliance documentation, ad-hoc reporting, maintenance of internal systems and organizational infrastructure change administration (e.g., new hire, separation, promotion, transfers, restructuring, etc.). The Senior Human Resources Generalist easily connects with people and has a detail-oriented mindset to handle the changing nature of the workforce.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Benefits
  • Administers the organization's benefits programs (e.g., leave policies, wellness programs, insurance policies, etc.) o In partnership with the HR team is responsible for management of open enrollment, renewal, distribution processes and benefit record keeping.
  • Maintaining and auditing employee benefit records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assisting employees address health, dental, HSA, and other benefit claims.
  • Monitoring employees' benefit status for benefit eligibilities, denials, eligibility discontinuances, and annual redetermination dates.
  • Partners with the HR Generalist on Benefit Administration. o Coordination of Benefit repayment with LOA management
  • Coordination of LOA benefits including COBRA transfers
  • Working alongside the payroll team regarding overseeing benefits deductions and repayments
  • Maintaining and verifying data related to premium billing, enrollment, and deductions

Generalist
  • Provide basic support related to recruiting, hiring, performance management, and training
  • Assists with pre-employment process workflow, which may include initiating assessments, background checks and onboarding tasks.
  • Lead LOA administration and coordinate with HR team tracking and documentation of Interactive Process of any applicable accommodation.
  • Assist with special HR projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned

Employee Relations
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; and maintaining records.
  • Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Advises and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances. Develops further training as needed.
  • Explains laws and legal affairs concerning employment to managers, supervisors, and employees.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; or a combination of education and experience
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish
  • Ability to improvise and adapt to a dynamic environment: organizations are always evolving and changing, must be able to anticipate and implement multiple solutions.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize work and accurately complete multiple tasks under minimal supervision and rigid time constraints.
  • Be thorough and accurate with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify, clarify, resolve, and solve for root causes.
  • Exceptional ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Experienced in handling confidential matters with discretion.
  • Ability to explain ideas and concepts in a simplified manner: Understands complex ideas, but they must be able to simplify and explain problems and solutions in terms everyone can understand.
  • Working knowledge of human resources management principles and practices in all human resource programs preferred.
  • Ability to interact cooperatively and in a positive and professional manner with the public, vendors, and co-workers following Agency policy, HIPAA, and ADA regulations.
  • Provides support to Vice President, Human Resources.
  • 3 years-experience with ADP Workforce Now.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
