Yoh has an immediate need for a Senior Social Media/Media Relations Specialist.

Hybrid role in San Diego- Minimum 2x onsite per week Tuesdays/Wednesdays and as required
Pay up to $42 per hour based on experience.

This is a dual role that requires both social media and media relations skills coupled with the ability to support across the organization.

In this role, you will be focused on supporting corporate initiatives and members of the leadership team through various social media platforms and media relations. You will work with a core team to help develop social content and media opportunities that best communicate the value and relevance of our brand. The role includes, but is not limited to, developing and managing the day-to-day operations for select leadership social content, moderating social communities, and collaborating with internal teams on corporate social posts.

In additional to social media, this role would support media relations opportunities including, but not limited to, reviewing and publishing press releases, monitoring and managing incoming media requests, providing responses to the media's information requests, prepping/supporting spokespeople for media opportunities and more.

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience doing social media as well as PR for leadership team members as well as thrive in a changing internal and external environment and be comfortable balancing multiple projects under tight and last-minute deadlines.

Responsibilities - Social Media

  • Build and execute social media strategy and content calendar for select leadership.
  • Assess and analyze the daily posts to ensure content is on target and effective by tracking post reach, engagements, engagement rate, clicks, etc.
    • Monitor growth and audience insights
    • Adjust strategy and/or content based on analysis acting on the information
    • Consolidate findings into reports for knowledge share
  • Act as an internal consult on social media strategy and industry trends. Up to date with pop culture, trends, and initiatives in the ecosystem.
  • Work with internal teams to review social media pages for those joining the video marketing program.
  • Partner closely with community marketing and creative teams to develop unique creative (video, images, text) to best reflect the tone and style authentic to the leadership team.
  • Collaborate with team on larger social media strategies and corporate initiatives, specifically on LinkedIn.

Responsibilities - Media Relations
  • Build and execute PR strategy for select leadership and corporate initiatives.
  • Manage/be the day-to-day contact with the PR agency[PM1] (when applicable) including tracking to budget, briefing priorities, and managing activities.
  • Create and review content for baseline public relations activities including press releases, briefing materials, and presentation development.
  • Collaborate with Brand Communications and other Business Units to ensure messaging and activities are unified.
  • Build and distribute a daily newsletter to select leadership and employees, including top stories in media and the industry.
  • Monitor Corporate Communications PR inbox daily for inquiries and facilitate requests.
  • Support broader corporate events and trade shows, working closely with extended PR/Corporate Communications local teams and global counterparts.
  • Point of contact for global HQ (Tokyo, Japan) key corporate messages and initiatives to ensure support for local stories.

Qualifications
  • BS in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, New Media or Public Relations.
  • Minimum of 4 years related experience in public relations and/or social media. Experiencing working within social media channels a must.
  • Applicants should be well versed in social content creation, strategy, and tactics. They must have a deep understanding of data, be up-to-date on new trends and technologies, and have a creative editorial eye with a focus on increased engagement and conversion.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to be agile in managing content/posts across channels
  • Understand how to build and create content in the social media platforms
  • Strong presence, and administrator experience across major social media networks.
  • Experience developing reports and analyzing performance along with making recommendations.
  • Understanding of basic SEO within web, social outlets including tagging, descriptions, and titling in order to optimize click-through and traffic.
  • Excellent customer service skills with experience in monitoring and resolving customer inquiries needs within a social environment.
  • Attention to detail with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an understanding of prioritization through ROI.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a "can-do" attitude, diplomatic approach, confidence, and comfort around coworkers and executive management is a must.
  • An outgoing, strong personality to match both the community and company culture is desired.
