BASIC FUNCTION:

The Relationship Manager CM, manages the account relationship with complex, middle and large-market customers to maximize the opportunity to provide service to the customer. Implements marketing plans to capitalize on marketing opportunities within designated industry segments. Provides functional guidance to Credit Analysts and Servicing Specialists. Supports the achievement of profitability and credit goals for the division through day-to-day management of account relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Manages the day-to-day customer relationship of complex, highly visible accounts. Regularly meets with the customer to keep abreast of information concerning their businesses, needs, strategic direction, and earnings to determine business opportunities.
  • Manages relationships with banks, institutional investors, and Farm Credit partners to foster syndication and participation opportunities. Looks for marketing opportunities to expand relationships with financial institutions and potential syndicates.
  • Manages complex and specialized buy-side opportunities with Farm Credit partners as well as commercial banks and institutional investors.
  • Maintains expertise in assigned market segment, keeping abreast of industry trends and of the competitive environment.
  • Guides the credit analysis area in the development and analysis of financial background data for new or renewed loans. Makes regular customer visits.
  • Makes decisions on loans and terms within own lending limits. Sponsors loan recommendations above own lending limits.
  • Follows current outstanding loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and to maintain awareness of developing trends.
  • Gives financial advice to customers and potential customers on complex issues. Studies industrial, commercial, and financial situations relating to new or existing businesses as requested. Makes recommendations on financial and organization structure, locations, and on other business-related issues.
  • Calls on potential or existing customers to develop new business and increase or retain existing business.
  • Provides functional guidance to Credit Analysts and Servicing Specialists on policies, procedures, and other credit matters.
  • Performs other functions assigned.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS degree with emphasis on agriculture, business administration, or equivalent. At least 5-8 years of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience.
  • Demonstrated credit and analytical skills; working knowledge of agricultural lending principles and practices, and association and FCS operating policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of FCA regulations, association and district policies and procedures.
  • Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills.
  • Experience using PC, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet software.
  • Must be proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks, work in an office or outdoor setting and be able to sit at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time. This job regularly requires the employee to visit job sites and must be able walk, sit, crouch, kneel, crawl, reach and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to navigate around construction equipment and business materials is required. Must have the ability to walk for some distance, more than a mile, during or getting to an inspection. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some travel required and must have a valid C Class driver's license. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

PART-TIME REMOTE/HYBRID: These employees will work partly remote and partly onsite. Part-time remote employees will work with their managers to determine when and how often they are needed onsite.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $207,405.95 - Max $280,608.05 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
