Position Summary

As a member of TCW's Fixed Income team, the Credit Portfolio Specialist will be based in TCW's Los Angeles office. This individual will represent the portfolio management team to consultants, clients, and prospects to help facilitate the growth of TCW's assets under management. The goal of the Credit Portfolio Specialist is to provide corporate credit market and investment expertise to support TCW's client service and sales & marketing teams, and allow portfolio managers to focus on managing TCW's investment portfolios.

Essential Duties
    Develop a deep understanding of the full range TCW's corporate credit products including public and private offerings across the ratings spectrum from investment grade to high yield.
  • Understand how TCW's credit product offerings fit in the competitive landscape and how they can be best positioned to benefit clients and grow assets under management.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate TCW's credit investing philosophy, process, approach and competitive advantages to internal and external stakeholders through a range of formal and informal channels including written pieces, emails, podcasts, in person meetings, calls, etc.
  • Perform competitor and peer group analysis and contribute to strategic initiatives and product development.
  • Provide investment expertise in support of the sales & marketing team on product offerings and investment strategy, including presenting at client meetings as requested; contribute to the overall growth of fixed income assets.
  • Provide clients, prospects, consultants and/or intermediaries with ongoing updates about the team's investment philosophy, process, products, capabilities, and performance; act as the Fixed Income team's point of contact for TCW's sales & marketing team on all things corporate credit related.
  • Collaborate with TCW's Product Services team by reviewing and contributing to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and annual and quarterly client reporting.
  • Prepare client communications, marketing materials, and engage in regular interactions with the portfolio management team as the role will require a real time understanding of our positioning and outlook.
  • Participate in investment strategy and review meetings and contribute to the improvement of the investment process.
  • Domestic and international travel required for client meetings.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a deep understanding of the asset management business
  • Expertise in fixed income markets generally and credit markets specifically with strong marketing/sales skills
  • Exposure to, and an in depth understanding of, a wide range of asset classes, financial instruments, strategies and products
  • Prior experience as a product specialist, portfolio manager, or analyst

  • Highly collaborative and works effectively with members across all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
  • CFA or MBA preferred

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For CA based position, the base salary range is $215k to $245k. This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
