Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • This individual will utilize his/her skills in PLC to design and develop the safety system of our state-of-the-art inspection platforms.

  • Drive and contribute to feature development from requirements to delivery following industry standard development practices for mechanical or electrical automation needs.

  • Create and maintain electrical and mechanical schematics.

  • Develop and install programs using automation software, SCADA software, Python coding languages.

  • Participate in formal and informal code and design reviews.

  • Learn and understand existing SW architecture and be able to mentor junior engineers.

  • Develop test criteria and test the system for efficiency, safety, and reliability.

  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for failures and implement solutions.

  • Work as a team member with physicists, engineers, computer scientists, and external vendors to understand the automation and safety processes needed.

  • Collaborate with Safety and Regulatory committees for safety compliance evaluation and approval.

  • Occasional global travel to customer sites to support installations.

  • Will spend time in clean-room environments in performing some tasks (10%-20%)

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • 5+ years of programming in Rockwell Studio 5000 software and 3+ years at a senior level

  • Expert knowledge in Allen Bradley PLC systems or equivalent

  • Excellent design, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience developing medium/large scale PLC system

  • Experience working in multi developer teams

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Self-motivated to excel in assigned tasks and responsibilities

  • Track record of completed projects in automation domain

  • Possess high curiosity, be a fast learner, and have the drive to turn prototype ideas into quality production code used in mission critical applications

Preferred but not required

  • Certified in Inductive Automation's Ignition SCADA software

  • Project management experience

  • Hands on development in semi capex business segment

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
