Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Fieldwork such as ambient air, soil vapor, soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation system O&M;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Investigation of the vapor intrusion pathway;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Vapor intrusion mitigation system design and implementation;
  • Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
  • Technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Training: This position requires 40-hour OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 80%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 40%
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental science. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Prior internship or work experience in environmental consulting up to 2 years; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Based on state and federal requirements, this position may be hourly and overtime-eligible or salaried eligible for straight-time overtime. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum: $66,560 /year / Maximum: $82,495/year or Minimum: $26.25 /hour / Maximum: $32.00/hour (Santa Barbara)
  • Minimum: $64,480 /year / Maximum: $78,745/year or Minimum: $25.06/hour / Maximum: $31.00/hour (Ventura)
