Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders - UCI MIND
- Bachelor's degree in biology, reproductive physiology, genetics, molecular biology or other closely related field, or minimum of 2 years work experience managing a genetically modified mouse colony in a research laboratory setting

- Ability to participate in shared project management workflow (via Teams, Slack, Trello, etc.)
- Excellent time-management and record-keeping skills
- Strong work ethic Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to see projects through to completion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in conventional PCR and qPCR genotyping
- Knowledge of basic mouse genetics and transgenic line development workflow
- Knowledge of basic CRISPR Cas9 technology
- Experience in mouse colony management software
- Experience in designing PCR protocols
- Early morning shift required: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- May be required to work on weekends as needed.
- Must wear protective clothing (PPE) provided.
- Constant exposure to possible allergens in the animal rooms, including (but not limited to) animal waste from dirty cages, dirty bedding, animal hair and dander and dust.
- The work area is enclosed with no direct access to open air.
