Position Summary:

As the Nurse Supervisor at City of Hope's South Pasadena Clinic, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of clinical services in the areas of Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Infusion. This leadership position entails overseeing a team of approximately 15 direct reports, comprising of Medical Assistants and Laboratory Phlebotomists. The role blends administrative duties with direct patient care, fostering excellence in patient care and adherence to City of Hope's high-quality standards. This opportunity is for full-time (exempt), and our offices are open Monday-Friday (closed weekends and holidays) from roughly 8:00am-5:00pm.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Staff Supervision:Lead and manage a team of Medical Assistants and Laboratory Phlebotomists, including performance evaluations, competency validations, and training staff on new workflows to ensure consistent high-quality care.
  • Policy and Procedure Adherence:Monitor and ensure clinical staff alignment with current policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with quality and safety measures.
  • Scheduling and Time Management:Create staffing schedules, monitor time cards, and manage clinic throughput to optimize patient care and staff efficiency.
  • EPIC In-Basket Management:Oversee and monitor the EPIC in-basket, ensuring timely responses and efficient communication within the clinical team.
  • Resource Support:Serve as a resource for staff during busy periods, ensuring they have the support they need to provide exceptional care to patients.
  • Meetings and Collaboration:Hold regular meetings with your staff to promote teamwork, attend operational and nursing meetings for the clinical network sites, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical operations.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nursing is required
  • Current California Registered Nurse license
  • Minimum of three (3) years of RN experience
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association
  • Previous supervisory or program coordination experience (preferred)
  • ONS Chemo/Bio Certificate (or obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • OCN certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire)
