Overview

The Senior SOAR Automation Engineer should demonstrate the ability to act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational projects. In additon, they should also demonstrate the ability to develop and recommend long range goals and objectives, to design, research and develop highly advanced new technological applications resulting in new projects which require major decision making recommendations. The Senior SOAR Automation Engineer will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. The analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. They will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The Senior SOAR Automation Engineerer will also perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. The Senior SOAR Automation Engineer must be capable of evaluating hardware/software deliveries for installation into operational baseline.

Responsibilities

* The ideal candidate will have experience with both Palo Alto XSOAR and/or Splunk SOAR.
* Palo Alto XSOAR and/or Splunk SOAR platform architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting.
* Participate in the intake, analysis, and finalization of cybersecurity use cases.
* Analyze, build, test, deploy, maintain, and document new SOAR playbooks to extend existing automation capabilities.
* Write, test, and maintain automation scripts/workflows within SOAR platform.
* Translate conceptual SOC requirements into technical data and integration requirements for the SOAR platform.
* Develop creative new approaches to accelerate threat detection, responses and remediation of security incidents.
* Ability to autonomously prioritize and successfully deliver across a portfolio of projects.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Attributes

* 3-5 years of security engineering experience in the Information Security industry OR as a technical expert for an internal Information Security program.
* Scripting and development skills (BASH, Perl, Python or Java) with strong knowledge of regular expressions
* Expertise developing SOC and security-focused content and automation.
* Experience authoring security runbooks, policy, and best practice documentation.
* Experience developing secure and efficient SOAR integrations.
* Proficiency in developing data ingestion. aggregation, and transformation strategies.

Desired Skills/Attributes

* Splunk Phantom Certified Admin and/or Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Automation Engineer a
* Experience with other Information Security solutions including DLP, NAC, SASE, NGFW, EDR, XDR, SIEM

Wage Data Per State Requirements

The pay range for this position is $81.51/hr - $101.89/hr. The starting pay rate will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
