Job Description

Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the LVN or Sr. LVN level.

DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of unit activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. Requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in six months of hire date.

  • Requires initiative; ability to prioritize critical demands and work in a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • ACLS and/or ART.

  • Cardiology experience.

  • Clinic experience.

  • Phlebotomy experience.

  • Requires knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations Flexible to work variable work hours, locations, and overtime as required based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $71,410 - $88,782 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $34.20 - $42.52

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
