As part of our Camera Technologies group, you'll help design the innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You'll design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You'll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we'll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras. The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of camera hardware for all related Apple products. Our target is to deliver superior camera hardware to enable best-in-class camera user experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic, high energy individual who can help us with tomorrow's challenges. In this role, the candidate will drive the development of next-generation camera hardware and chipset architecture. This role requires broad EE, fundamental physics and signal processing skills, algorithm and FW/SW interactions. You will work with cross functional teams to model and define chipset architecture understanding key system level requirements, trade-offs, and optimization between different components on the system

Key Qualifications

  • Multiple chip or electrical system lead experience.
  • Understanding all components of system including algorithm, FW, SW, EE, interacting between components as well as chipsets.
  • Understanding optimal partitioning of all components in camera system including ICs and non-ICs.
  • Ability to negotiate trade-offs among multi-functional teams.
  • Broad range of engineering knowledge and/or expertise.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
  • Past experience of independence in designing complex systems.
  • Strong commitment to going above and beyond to get work done at the highest quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with design of experiments, and analysis of results, to root-cause complicated electrical problems.


Description

- Working with cross-functional teams including mechanical, optical, firmware, product/test and camera systems engineers to define performance specifications, optimal HW/SW/FW system partitioning and interfacing. - Starting with initial concept, complete chipset architecture through in-depth technical analysis and close collaboration with multi-functional teams. - Model Camera Chipset and SoC interactions in different architectural options to perform trade off analysis. - Document Chipset Architecture Requirements Specification backed up by simulation and analysis during concept phase. - Ensure that the above requirements are validated during integration phase.

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
