POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Commercial Enterprises, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Operator. The Heavy Equipment Operatorwill operate cranes, motor grader heavy loaders, tractors, backhoes to maintain all gravel and other earth surfaced roads, access roads, driveways, and parking areas remove all fallen trees, limbs, and debris after periods of heavy wind, hail, ice, snow, rainfall. Maintenance of the storm water systems. Will assist GMW III in the performance of their duties.

  • Remove all fallen trees, limbs, and debris after periods of heavy wind, hail, ice, snow, rainfall. To include complete removal of trees, stumps, and debris; filling of hole with topsoil; and the seeding and mulching of the bare ground
  • Perform various tasks related to drainage, including but not limited to draining water from flooded areas, fixing drainage problems for buildings, earthworks, and maintaining ditches. The latter may involve grading, adding topsoil, and re-seeding land.
  • Perform maintenance and repair services for ground structures as required. Ground structures include, but are not limited to: playgrounds and playground equipment, drainage culverts or systems, and athletic fields.
  • Remove any shrubs, trees, or fences necessary to excavate, unearth, and remove any debris to reach the work area. Will fill the holes, grade, replace landscaping, and seed or mulch the excavation area, as required, to return it to its original condition.
  • Maintain all graded, paved, or stabilized (other than grass) areas used for vehicular, aircraft, track vehicle, or pedestrian traffic such as roads, streets, service drives, walks, parking areas, open storage areas, and airfield paved areas.
  • Repair, install, enhance, replace, remove, and inspect traffic regulatory signs, warning signs, guidance and yield signs, informational, reflective, reserved, and safety signs on paved or unpaved areas.
  • Paint special signs such as building numbers, street signs, directional signs, regulatory signs, individual group reserved parking signs, safety signs, boundary signs, fire prevention signs, and physical, classified activity access signs, control signs, off limit signs, restricted area signs, medical activity signs, and special events signs.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance of the storm water features such as outfall structures, and headwalls, and Storm Water BMPs such as wet/dry detention basins, bio-retention and filtration basins, permeable pavement, and vegetated swales. Clean and remove debris from drop inlets and manholes.
  • Conduct inspection, routine maintenance and repair, enhancement work of the bio-retention and infiltration basins. Also perform inspections annually and routine maintenance and repair on a monthly basis. Common maintenance work shall include unclogging outlets, vegetation management and debris removal.
  • Assist other Trades with setting up special events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Payrate:$33.84 Hourly

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be fluent in English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • CLEARANCES, CERTIFICATIONS, TRAINING, ETC.:Valid driver's license and safe driving record. Facility clearance including official background checks is required.
  • MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT: Ability to safely utilize, operate and maintain hand and power tools common to the trade.
