THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Commodity Manager for IT Software. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for overseeing indirect SW spend for numerous business segment managed by IT including Marketing, Sales, Events, Consulting, SAAS, and other areas. This role will develop a global procurement strategy; implementing a supplier development program that has an integrated long-term approach on cost, quality, and service. Will be responsible to develop and manage the strategic supplier relationship.

THE PERSON:

Looking for a candidate with expertise in negotiating complex purchases across various segments, who has a proven track record of success in high-growth technology companies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, an effective communicator, and a hands-on individual contributor. This position requires the ability to collaborate with multiple business functions to understand their requirements and develop sourcing strategies for the category.

KEY RESPNSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for IT SW spend
  • Partner with key business stakeholders to understand their requirements and establish an approved vendor list to increase efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Advise end-users on preferred and cost-effective suppliers.
  • Ensure detailed requirements from end-users are available in an appropriate format for efficient sourcing.
  • Conduct strategic pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Conduct market intelligence research and make strategic procurement recommendations.
  • Evaluate and compare supplier metrics such as logistics and cost performance.
  • Maintain a portfolio of premium suppliers and assess supplier availability.
  • Manage contract negotiations and bidding processes for identified opportunities.
  • Partner with legal to ensure compliance of vendor contracts.
  • Develop cost models to determine "should" cost and total cost of ownership (TCO) for supplier negotiations.
  • Address supplier performance issues when required.
  • Keep end-users informed about their requirements, potential risks, and external influences.
  • Identify opportunities for benchmarking.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong hands-on working experience in Indirect Purchasing spend with focus on IT Software
  • Possess strategic and tactical knowledge in indirect procurement.
  • Utilize analytical thinking skills to process data and transform it into meaningful insight.
  • Display strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a team environment, and able to influence at all levels.
  • Ensure a tactful ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Use a creative approach and maintain an inquisitive attitude, identifying new and improved ways to solve problems.
  • Demonstrates superior customer service orientation while working effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues.
  • Anticipate the needs of the organization and show initiative and mature judgment to meet those needs.
  • Maintain a persistent drive for results, employing sound project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Place a strong emphasis on attention to detail, process organization, and continuous improvement.

  • Possess excellent project management skills.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

BS/BA degree or above with experienced in a semiconductor technical or business field.
