Overview

A Material Planner / Scheduler works within the Procurement and Supply function to maximize the value that is delivered by providing support translating known material needs identified across the material lifecycle from planning stages through to execution and closeout into the program / project and construction schedules to ensure material requirements meet the needs of the overall program and individual projects.

Responsibilities
    The core role of the Material Planner / Scheduler is to take the quantified demand signals (requisitions or reservations from SAP) and insert them into a material schedule for each project (The schedule structure will need to include when the signal is translated into a purchase order and the planned delivery date. This material schedule then needs to be reviewed against the planned project construction schedule to identify potential issues and opportunities).
  • They will work with the Material Coordinator / Expeditors to ensure that the process is mapped, followed and kept up to date and that the Supply Team are on top of the material risks and opportunities on the SUG Program.
  • The role requires cross functional coordination, excellent planning, and scheduling skills as well as strong analytical, communication and strong administrative skills.
  • The Material Planner / Scheduler will utilize a number of different systems / software including SAP, Procore, P6 as well as the standard Microsoft suite and some work with Power BI.
  • They will also assist in the construction and maintenance of standardized reporting and then use the reporting tools to maintain effective and efficient records of the project activity.
  • Builds reports as needed for their internal stakeholders and external clients.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Computer Information Systems, Supply Chain, or other related field
  • 2-5+ years of directly relevant experience in planning and/or scheduling, preferably related to either materials or asset management within a utility, construction company or similar operation
  • Demonstrated cross functional working capabilities
  • Problem solving, analytical, and research capabilities
  • Persuasive communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) with willingness to highlight risks and issues as they arise
  • Strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and Internet applications
  • Working knowledge of P6 Scheduling tools with ability to learn and grow the skillset in this area

Wage Data Per State Requirements

Pay range for this position is $50/hr - $65/hr. The starting pay will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
