Job Summary

CAST is seeking a staff scientist to forward a project focused on experimental aerodynamics, measurement techniques, and software development. The candidate should have postdoctoral experience, demonstrating comprehensive capabilities in conducting sophisticated fluid dynamics experiments. This job includes the operation of a wind tunnel facility. Specific duties include data acquisition from wind tunnel experiments, data analysis using Machine learning techniques, and report writing.

In addition to a strong foundation in aerodynamics, the candidate should have a robust background in applying machine learning techniques and creating digital visualizations within the aerospace industry. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and MATLAB is essential. International experience involving collaborations with global teams or projects is highly desired.

Essential Job Duties

  • Operation of the wind tunnel facility.

  • Report writing.

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Mastery of programming languages C++, Python + MATLAB.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postdoctoral experience.
  • International experience working with global teams.

Hiring Range

$94,000 to $126,500 per year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
