The Team:

The Digital Gaming team's mission is to expand Mattel's ever-growing IP catalog in the digital gaming space. This includes outbound IP licensing of our brands to 3rd party game developers/publishers and partnering with other companies for co-development. The team is comprised of individuals from various backgrounds to tackle key challenges such as marketing, business development/licensing, UX/UI, and production.The position of Associate Marketing Manager for the Digital Gaming Team reports to the Senior Marketing Manager, Digital Gaming. The team is based in Mattel's offices in El Segundo CA.


The Opportunity:

The Associate Marketing Manager, Digital Gaming will be responsible for supporting the Sr. Marketing Manager on brand and product marketing strategy and tactics on assigned licensed titles across Mattel's global brands by partnering with licensees to help deliver world-class campaigns. You will play a key role in contributing to both the strategic and executional elements of marketing plans including working with internal partners to secure support through Mattel's marketing channels, and working closely with the production team to ensure product development and marketing programs are aligned.

This role is a great fit for anyone who has experience in video games marketing and ideally has worked with well-known brands either in a brand management or licensing role. Ability to manage multiple projects is a must. This role needs to be able to forge internal and external relationships in order to deliver best-in-class marketing programs.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Ensure digital games reflect the best of Mattel's brands and meet performance targets by reviewing marketing materials, providing guidance or feedback, and leading the review process for go-to-market plans, creative assets, and marketing activations with licensees.
  • Partner closely with key cross-functional teams (Production, PR, Brand, Franchise, and Legal) to ensure alignment on plans and manage feedback on marketing materials and activities.
  • Leverage Mattel marketing channels to maximize support and visibility of digital gaming initiatives
  • Ensure innovative, high-quality, and performance-driven marketing campaigns that align with Mattel's franchise priorities and initiatives
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, competitive market, and business opportunities
  • Ensure continuous improvement by analyzing performance of campaigns with licensees to identify areas of optimization
  • Present marketing updates to broader Digital Games, Product. Retail, and Franchise Teams

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing within the gaming industry (3+ with advanced degree)
  • Experience in driving successful marketing campaigns for well-known brands
  • Strong time management, planning, and project execution skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid collaborative relationships
  • Understanding of brand management, product marketing, channel marketing, user acquisition, and social media
  • Strong PowerPoint creation and presentation skills, proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Highly organized project manager, detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourceful, good work ethic, and works well under pressure across multiple projects
  • Passion for digital games
  • Demonstrated agrowth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $106,400-$133,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
