Job Description
Over the past 90+ years, Capital has built a rich history of contributing to the communities in which we operate, supporting causes that matter to associates, and managing our business responsibly. Our mission - improving lives through successful investing - requires us to thoughtfully consider our responsibilities to society and manage our impact in the world. In 2022, we established the Sustainability and Social Responsibility (SSR) team to accelerate and centralize how we give back to our communities and advance sustainability in our operations.

The SSR Environmental Stewardship Lead is accountable for key components of Capital Group's commitments to sustainability and social responsibility, encompassing corporate GHG emissions reporting, annual sustainability reports aligned to industry standards (e.g., ISSB, GRI, SASB), and regulatory compliance.

"I can succeed as an SSR Environmental Stewardship Lead."

Working collaboratively with stakeholders across Capital Group, you'll play a key role in delivering upon our GHG reporting and regulatory requirements, monitoring developments in the regulatory landscape, and supporting compliance efforts for Capital's corporate entities and subsidiaries within these areas. You'll support efforts to reduce and offset GHG emissions associated with our offices, business travel, and supply chain, and in partnership with our procurement division you'll engage suppliers on sustainability topics.

Contributing to the Annual DE&I/Sustainability Report, you'll produce disclosures aligned to relevant industry standards (e.g., ISSB), and deliver stories and data-driven insights to bring to life the impact of our environmental stewardship and philanthropic programs. You'll ensure Capital is prepared for compliance with corporate sustainability reporting regulations across the globe, and regularly update senior leadership across corporate functions on critical developments in sustainability regulations.

You'll support delivery of Capital's renewable energy and green building strategy, evaluate and develop new programs, and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders across the organization. This will include working with IT extensively to optimize the infrastructure supporting critical data capture and analysis.
