The Alliance & Channels (A&C) team is looking for an exceptional new leader for a critical role in its COO organization that will help shape the future of Alliance & Channels; Vice President, Global Strategy & Operations.
This leader will be a player-manager who is comfortable getting into the details, revels in accountability and brings a practical 'strategy to life' approach.Working with and supporting this leader is an exceptional global group of talented and tenured Salesforce executives covering multiple disciplines.
The team collaboratively works with and supports multiple different areas of the company. It is therefore critical that this executive leader has the ability to build robust trusted relationships and act as an adviser and business partner with our global distribution strategy & operations team, global sales CxO stakeholders and other operating unit leaders including business technology, legal, deal desk and sourcing. We are therefore looking for someone who has exceptional experience across technology and SaaS companies including sales, go-to-market planning, alliances and channels.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day running of all A&C operations and planning activities including data & analytics team
Shape and empower a high performing team; attract, develop and retain top talent that delivers
Work collaboratively across A&C, including Partner Success and functional SMEs to map, define and optimize all end-to-end A&C processes including defining the target end state
Run annual A&C planning, quota, carving and target setting. Establish team goals and support progress and achievement
Shape global partner strategy to help define the future of A&C
Work independently on assignments and escalations that are diverse in scope, requiring seasoned judgement in resolving issues or in making recommendations to executives
Partner with Sales leaders on complex and strategic projects including providing end-to-end support to our internal and external partners
Engage, support, and provide guidance from Analysts to xVPs to support the needs of the business
Work across A&C and regional sales strategy teams with Directors/Managers to maximize team efficiency, productivity, and performance
Respond to process & policy questions and effectively communicate requirements to impacted parties
Work with GDSO, regional strategy, Business Technology, Sourcing and Legal on complex structuring and GTM issues
Challenge legacy policies and procedures that complicate partner leads, E2E reseller, outsourced service provider or referral fee policies, and formulate creative solutions or workaround based on that analysis
Share best practices with and provide cross-training for peers, team members and outside business units to enhance the quality and efficiency of support and contribute to the knowledge base
Establish strong relationships with Sales, Success, Professional Services, Renewals, Customer Support Managers, Compensation, Revenue Recognition, Legal, and other internal resources as appropriate
Review, interpret and use data and analytics to manage team functions, and use insight to make business recommendations
Own and execute all SOX controls for our global A&C operations processes
Support and provide feedback to the Executive level to assist in day to day decision making
Experience/Skills Required:
Ideally, this leader will have worked in diverse roles across SaaS software sales or sales operations and will feel comfortable interacting with senior management on a regular basis. This leader must be a team player, passionate about making a difference, have a startup mindset, willing to manage multiple priorities, and able to deal with ambiguity effectively.
Intellectually curious with a strong EQ to build and maintain relationships across and outside the function, both internally and externally
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to articulate verbally and written, willingness to appropriately debate difficult issues; ability to think quickly
Maintains a positive attitude in stressful situations while working within a collaborative team environment
Excellent Salesforce knowledge and experience or ability to quickly build robust trusted relationships across Salesforce
10+ years experience with license and consumption based SaaS sales organizations and GTM
Ability to excel in a fast-growing/fast-paced environment delivering accuracy while managing to deadlines where adaptability is imperative
Strong personal accountability and personal alignment to Salesforce's values: Trust, Customer Success, Innovation, Equality and Sustainability
Proven people leader with experience running a broad and complex high performing team that spans multiple disciplines and be comfortable pivoting to deliver on tactical priorities quickly
Strategic thinking that can be quickly converted into a focused execution plan and manage the plan to demonstrable outcomes. Ability to understand broader business and financial issues and juggle multiple projects and tasks
Extreme attention to detail
Comfortable providing and receiving feedback
Commercial deal and contractual structuring experience strongly preferred
Complex problem solving skills including managing escalations, finding solutions that balance the needs of the business with the needs of our business partners and end customers, and interacting with all levels of leadership across the business
Ability to think creatively and bring new ways to solve old problems
Demonstrated participation in process improvement initiatives and project management experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
