Purpose of Position
The Manager of Admissions is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the entire process of recruitment, admissions, and enrollment, focusing on the assigned territories and designated student populations . This role involves developing and nurturing relationships with high school guidance counselors and community college coordinators to effectively attract and recruit prospective students for NKU.

A key aspect of this role is to continually enhance and refine recruitment strategies to attract a diverse and talented pool of prospective students.

The Manager of Admissions will collaborate closely with various stakeholders within the organization, such as faculty, department heads, and admissions staff, to ensure a seamless and efficient admissions process, including coordinating recruitment events, conducting informational sessions, and participating in outreach activities to engage with potential students and their families.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the outreach efforts for undergraduate recruitment in all assigned market segments, implementing strategies to attract prospective students effectively.

  • Organize and develop the office's comprehensive recruitment strategy, including scheduling and coordinating high school visits, college fairs, community college visits, and community events to maximize outreach and engagement.

  • Utilize Slate (or a similar platform) to create compelling and effective communications, such as emails, newsletters, brochures, and other materials, to engage with prospective students and provide relevant information about NKU and its programs.

  • Analyze recruitment data and identify trends and patterns to generate insightful data reports for the leadership, inform decision-making processes, assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies, and contribute to overall enrollment management goals.

  • Execute recruitment strategies at assigned high schools, community colleges, and community organizations, including conducting onsite admissions and participating in select recruitment programs.

  • Provide pre-admissions counseling to families and prospective students, offering guidance and information about NKU, its programs, admission requirements, and the application process.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan specifically tailored to transfer students, creating engaging and informative content, ensuring effective and timely information dissemination; and serve as the liaison with the Adult and Transfer Center to execute the adult communication plan effectively.

  • Provide oversight and management of customer service staff/Admissions Counselors, including scheduling and coordinating their activities across various channels such as phones, emails, walk-ins, chat, etc., utilizing appropriate software tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Three years experience with experience in Higher Education preferred.

Ability to develop and execute comprehensive recruitment and admissions strategies to attract a diverse and talented pool of prospective students. Must have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, strong analytical and organization skills, and strong communication skills to effectively communicate with prospective students, parents, and stakeholders.

Strong customer service skills to provide pre-admissions counseling, promptly respond to inquiries, and deliver exceptional support to prospective students throughout the admissions process.

Results-driven with an ability to make accurate and deliberate decisions and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain privacy. Understanding and appreciation of diversity, ensuring inclusive recruitment practices to attract a diverse student body.

Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to communicate with prospective students, parents, and stakeholders effectively.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required. A valid driver's license and dependable vehicle are also necessary.
