Position: Physical Therapy Assistant

Location: Intrepid Spirit Clinic, NHCP, Camp Pendleton, CA

Schedule: Monday through Friday (Excluding Federal Holidays)

Shifts: 8.5, 9, or 10.5 hours between 0600 to 1800
• Includes a 30-minute or 1-hour uncompensated meal-break (Depending on shift length)
• Maximum 80 hours per two-week period

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree: Associate's Degree
• Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
• Experience: Minimum one year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant within the past two years
• License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapy assistant or possess current certification as a physical therapy assistant/technician as determined by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Core Duties:

• Implement corrective exercise and treatment programs for assigned patients under the direction of the physical therapist
• Administer treatments such as exercise, gait training, massage, whirlpool, hot packs, diathermy, ultrasound, paraffin, ice packs, and traction
• Instruct patients on program segments and proper use of mobility aids and devices
• Monitor patient responses to treatments, evaluate progress, and report findings to the physical therapist
• Fit and train patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices
• Collaborate with the physical therapy team and other healthcare professionals to plan and coordinate patient treatment programs
