Updates Writer, Travel + Leisure

About Your Role

The Travel + Leisure team is looking for an Updates Writer. This role is a key part of our strategy to keep our content up to date with the latest products and information to help readers make the best purchasing decisions, while also following SEO best practices.

In this role, you will assess content freshness within our evergreen library, write updates to our product roundups and reviews, and alert T+L commerce editors when larger updates are needed to an article. This role will also work closely with the Growth/SEO team to help determine and complete updates to our content that will have the most impact.

About Your Contributions:

  • Audit content using competitor analysis, marketplace knowledge, and internal data (e.g. insights from product testing) to produce meaningful updates that help keep our product recommendations current

  • Research new products and new trends to make sure we're making the best recommendations to our readers, and check on stock availability and new versions or models of products

  • Find and interview travel industry experts for stories

  • Advise vertical editors when larger updates are required and offer suggestions on products to add/remove

  • Ensure both new and existing content reflects the voice and values of Travel + Leisure

  • Participate in product testing, both at home and in our New York City lab space

About You:

  • 2+ years writing experience at an online publisher, preferably in the travel space

  • Personal interest in finding the best travel products, including luggage, shoes and apparel, outdoor gear, and other travel essentials

  • Detail-oriented and deadline-focused

  • A self-starter who can pivot seamlessly as new initiatives and directives are identified and adjusts processes accordingly

  • Familiarity with SEO best practices

  • Proficiency in project management tools like Google Sheets, Airtable, or similar

  • CMS experience required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

Pay Range

Salary: $62,400 - $70,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees.
