This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off benefits program after 90 days of employment.

Position Summary:
Examples of duties include, but not limited to, performing and monitoring campus patrols, training and enforcing security-related procedures, supervising and monitoring activity on property to deter and prevent theft, fire and accidents, responding to calls for assistance, writing reports on accidents, various incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security-related situations, providing needed assistance to residents, employees and visitors in accordance with company or department procedures, serving as training officer to new security staff, and performing other related duties, as may be assigned.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $20.50 to $25.36/hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Promotes the success of others.
  • Maintains access control systems, issuance of visitor passes, and efficient record-keeping systems of all campus patrol activities.
  • Makes campus rounds on a routine basis to monitor safety/security services in place. Investigates incidents and prepares written reports.
  • Makes vacation checks for residents on vacation.
  • Routinely makes safety checks of the residents' automobiles and parking lot.
  • Alerts law enforcement of suspicious circumstances.
  • Provides input to the Executive Director concerning security equipment and operational needs for inclusion in the annual budget.
  • Responds to requests for special security checks.
  • Responds in an appropriate manner in emergency situations.
  • Monitors the annual security budget insuring security supply and operational needs are met within budget goals.
  • Transports residents on the campus to various locations throughout the campus.
  • Maintains a schedule for employees to ensure adequate staff coverage on the campus.

Qualifications

Education:
High school education or equivalent G.E.D. preferred. Must have a valid California driver's license and practice safe driving techniques. Must be 21 years of age or older.

Training and Experience:
Security or Law Enforcement training and/or experience preferred. Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory experience and working knowledge security operations standards and procedures and good understanding of schedules and schedule matrix, shift and payroll operations, 24/7 operations, as well as good people skills, communications skills, diplomacy and tact. First aid training required.

Job Knowledge:
Must have a good working knowledge of security operations and safety practices. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff, residents, company and the public, to understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOP's), to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance, to write necessary incident reports, make various log entries, investigate incidents, make independent good judgment decisions within proper policy or procedure.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, COVID test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
