We are looking for a RF Engineer to join our team. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced individual who is hard working with the ability to excel in a challenging, fast-paced government contractor environment. The position location is San Diego, CA. This position is contingent upon award.

OVERVIEW

As a support contractor for Space Systems Command/Narrowband SATCOM Acquisition Delta (SSC/CGN), you will apply knowledge and expertise to perform technical engineering support and analysis of spacecraft, ground station, waveform, and digital signal processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing requirements based on scientific and engineering, hardware, and software technical baselines.
  • Participate in modeling, simulation, and analysis of link budgets, power budgets, and network performance. Link Budgets span Ka and UHF bands and include channel effects analysis.
  • Reviewing hardware and software designs for spacecraft, ground station RF and digital signal processing, software waveforms, and various support equipment in the following bands: Ka, S, L and UHF.
  • Providing recommendations on systems integration and engineering baseline changes and assessing the technical maturity and risk of development projects.
  • Providing technical oversight and recommendations related to effective testing and validating system requirements. Reviewing test reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in developing / reviewing operational procedures for various waveforms, to include network management, mission planning, and network handover.
  • Assessing and integrating engineering activities across multiple projects and multiple program areas.
  • Preparing, reviewing, editing reports and briefings.
  • Attending project meetings and reviews to include technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and program management reviews.
  • Assisting the Government in analyzing contractor concept designs at the system and subsystem levels.

Other Duties:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in the design, development, and or implementation of RF links and communication systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience and comfort with Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, RF equipment, and various software tools needed for lab level development and test of RF systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, and dynamic environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required to start (U.S. Citizenship is required due to access to sensitive information).

Desired qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in physics, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the DoD or Intelligence Community.
  • Master's degree in physics, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
  • Experience working satellite programs.
  • Experience with one or more scenario level link budget modeling tools, such as STK and AFSIM.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
