ALL HIRES ARE SUBJECT TO HIRING FREEZE AND/OR BUDGET APPROVAL.
Under direct supervision of the Supervising Correctional Cook (SCC), the Correctional Supervising Cook (CSC) is responsible for preparing the breakfast/dinner meal, monitoring portion control, safeguarding sanitation levels and food temperatures. Receives and stores in the appropriate location food and supplies for all Religious Diet Programs. Holds and serves meals for inmates on the Religious Diet Programs. Ensures the meal is presented in an appropriate manner at the dining room. Applies the principles of preventative food safety and sanitation in regards to the disposition of leftover food. Is responsible for the proper cleaning and sanitization of the kitchen, dining room, and scullery after the meal has been served. Upon completion of breakfast cleaning, duties may include preparation of sack lunches, preparation for the next day's meals and/or beginning production for the dinner meal. Post orders are reviewed and signed by staff monthly for each position assigned.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
