Title: Associate Test Engineer
Location: Santa Clara, California
Term: Full-Time

The Role :
Picarro is seeking an Associate Test Engineer for a challenging role configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex gas analyzing systems
at Picarro's headquarters in Santa Clara.
Picarro is looking for employees who wants to grow with the organization, foster a team environment, and conduct themselves professionally in high pressure situations.
This position is ideal for new graduates with a Science or Engineering degree.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Tests new products using existing processes and procedures
  • Identifies any problems following existing process and procedures and submit a redline or change request
  • Follow troubleshooting documentation to fix basic hardware and software issues
  • Use 8D process to handle new issues not covered by existing processes, procedures, or troubleshooting documentation
  • Complete data gathering and analysis activities using internally developed software or external software such as Excel or Tableau. Such activities are either standard, day-to-day operations or as deliverables for higher level projects.
  • Fill out checklists and activity logs to keep track of time and progress on tasks
  • Supporting senior team members with basic tasks, such as setting up tests, replenishing gas supplies (moving gas tanks, connecting/disconnecting gas lines), completing process paperwork, etc.
Skills and qualifications (either demonstrated through work experience or school work):
  • Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent experience required. Science or Engineering field required.
  • Providing technical know-how and training for production test operators and technicians on test system operation, and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering documentation (e.g. requirements, specifications, schematics, etc.).
  • Ability to use a variety of testing and measuring and optical instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, photo detector, microscope, power meter etc.)
  • Ability to integrate and work well in a team environment, strong verbal presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Conducts root cause investigation technical and process problems, and then proposes and executes effective countermeasures to prevent future problems.
  • Working knowledge of Design for manufacturability and serviceability (DFM/S), and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Investigates, analyzes, develops, and determines processes and process improvements for new and existing products.
  • Demonstrated lean thinking in a production environment/ Management of multiple priorities dynamically with little direct supervision.
  • Thoroughly documenting all test hardware requirements, system configuration, and software operations.
  • Configuring hardware and operating environments as needed to accomplish product testing requirements.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Preferable, but not critical:
  • Working knowledge of PCBA design, troubleshooting potential failures, and driving to root cause.
  • Experience with class 3B and 4 lasers. Knowledgeable of laser safety and standards.
  • Familiarity with CRM/ERP systems.
Salary Range & Benefits:
$90K-$105K: Your base salary and title will be determined based on the location, experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge, level, and pay of employees in similar positions.
