Acara Solutions is one of the Nation's largest and oldest aerospace staffing services organizations. Our Santa Fe Springs, CA aerospace manufacturing client is looking for a VP of Sales & Marketing to join their firm as a direct salaried employee. The salary range for this position is $240K - $270K. Relo assistance available for out-of-region candidates willing to move nearby. This is a 100% onsite position when not 'on the road'.

The position requires at least a couple of years of experience managing director level direct reports. They may consider a director level candidate (at a lower salary) hybrid/remote with strong MRO and airline experience.

This is an onsite position that requires extensive travel (including Africa - aka Ethiopia - Europe and South America) and a background in aerospace manufacturing with hands-on technical experience (an engineering degree is a plus). Operational management experience highly preferred. They are looking for someone ideally with a background targeting airlines and MRO's in addition to OEM's. The VP will need to travel to service centers to learn and stay on top of company products.

Responsible for management of Sales and Marketing team, forecasting, identification and capture of new business opportunities, development of marketing literature, advertising, branding, and promotional items and management of website and trade show appearances. Responsible for developing the strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction. Market and sell specialized company products to airline, maintenance base, OEM, and third party customers within assigned territories including management of marketing representatives. Responsible for management of quotation and order entry process.

  1. Provide Leadership and Supervise the Regional, Inside Sales Staff and outside Rep's
  2. Support in the area of marketing strategy and management, tactics and resources necessary to achieve goals
  3. Develop Annual Sales Projections and Establish and Manage Sales Operating Budget
  4. Develop and Maintain Sales Forecast with Quarterly Updates and set current/ long-term goals for internal teams
  5. New Product Development
  6. Monitor and Recruit Representatives as Required
  7. Develop, Negotiate, and Oversee License Agreements
  8. Major Product/Project Sales
  9. New Customer/Sales Development
  10. Customer Visits and Prospecting, maintain a strong network of relationships within the industry
  11. Work with Operations to meet On Time Delivery
  12. Generation and Follow-Up
  13. Proposal preparation, Management, and Review
  14. Review and Sign Sales Orders
  15. Manage customer Service Personnel
  16. Oversee Quotation and Order Entry Process
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Candidates will need to either currently live within commutable distance or be willing to move to the Los Angeles/Orange Co. region upon start (this is a 100% onsite position when not traveling).
Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Marketing or Engineering or related field (will consider a Business Degree if the individual has sufficient technical experience).
Min 5 years of VP level sales management experience (the majority within an aerospace manufacturing firm) that includes:
- Strong senior leadership with a history of director level reports and managing company sales operations and marketing
Min 10 years of experience in a customer facing business development position for an aerospace manufacturing organization along with the following:
  1. At least some of this experience needs to be targeting airlines and/or MROs in addition to OEMs
  2. Ability to Recommend Creative Solutions to Customer's Unique Requirements
  3. Ability to write an Effective Sales Plan and demonstrate designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns
  4. Project Management experience
  5. Ability to plan and facilitate effective and efficient meetings
  6. Highly involved in the technical side (engineering background a plus)
  7. Significant overseas sales experience

Expect to travel 60% - 70% of the time and the majority of travel will be international (e.g., Europe, India, Ethiopia, South America)

Master's degree
Candidates should live within a reasonable commute distance to Santa Fe Springs (within Orange or Los Angeles Counties)
10+ years of senior management experience
