The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a full time Laboratory Assistant II. In this role you will be responsible for the following task:
Assist the PI (Principal Investigator) in performing cryosectioning and immunohistochemisty.
Assist PI in imaging fixed samples.
Documenting experimental procedures and results.
Carrying out routine laboratory caretaking tasks such as preparing solutions and washing glassware.
other duties as needed.
Pay Range: $21.38 - $25.15 hourly.
Qualifications
Bachelors in Science is preferred.
Knowledge of UCLA Environmental Health & Safety guidelines.
Familiarity with standard immunohistochemistry methods is desirable.
Familiarity with standard lab skills such as making solutions and using a pH meter is preferred.
Good communication skills and ability to work well with multiple individuals at different skill levels.
Ability to maintain an organized working area.
Ability to keep accurate and organized records.
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for handling biohazard and chemical waste.
Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software is preferred.
