About the Role

The Chief Commercial Officer will be responsible for leading and implementing PSI's go to market strategy, optimizing growth and revenue, profitability, and market leadership. The CCO is a pivotal leadership role and member of the Executive Team that has oversight for PSI's Global Assessment business. Particular focus will be on achieving strategic business objectives, winning new business, enhancing market presence and ensuring seamless alignment of sales, business development, marketing, sales operations and new customer engagement efforts across the organization. This role is a key member of PSI's senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and plays a critical role in shaping PSI's future and long-term success.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy to drive global revenue growth, including expanding the PSI's global assessment business into new markets, industries, and customer segments.
  • Lead the Business Development, Marketing, Proposals and Sales Operations go to market teams to drive innovation, ensure the PSI value proposition remains competitive and relevant, and attain aggressive revenue targets and successful implementations.
  • Champion a customer-centric and cross functional approach throughout the Global Certification, Licensure, and Advisory business unit and supporting functions, ensuring that customer needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Oversee the implementation and successful development of strategic go-to-market plans and team culture that ensures integration between all functional teams involved in driving commercialization efforts.
  • Evaluate alternative strategies, identify competitive issues, capitalize on core strengths, and develop operating plans to achieve objectives for profitable growth.
  • Oversee and be accountable for PSI new business revenue including managing the commercial budget, forecasting revenue and cost to ensure efficient resource allocation and maximize return on investment
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the cost structure and drivers of PSI's business and identify initiatives and programs to continually optimize spending on go to market and pricing strategies for profitable growth
  • Propose and ensure implementation of pricing and contracting strategies.
  • Lead contract negotiations to maximize strong, commercially viable customer relationships.
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships and alliances to drive growth and market expansion, be a thought leader and visible ambassador for PSI.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities to inform business decisions, help identify possible M&A targets.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor pipeline and commercial performance and track progress against revenue and win rate targets.
  • Adhere to ethical standards & comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function.

  • Exceptional commercial negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional team player - with ability to build critical cross functional relationships with colleagues upon which success would be dependent.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate needs as well as provide the team with a clear framework of the strategic priorities.
  • A visionary business leader, self-motivated with a high bias for action and accountability.
  • Can respectfully cultivate a sense of urgency and responsiveness to all levels of the organization, strong ability to influence.
  • In depth knowledge of market trends, customer behaviors, and industry dynamics with a global mindset.
  • Financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and profit and loss accounts, forecasts and efficient use of tools such as salesforce.com for tracking of activity and impact.
  • Ability to analyze cost-benefit scenarios, manage budgets and negotiate contracts and vendor/customer agreements as well as strategic alliances.
  • Ability to present PSI and its products publicly comfortably and energetically.
  • Working knowledge of the high stakes testing or related industry and brand landscape.
  • Aptitude in sound decision-making and problem-solving in pressure situations.
  • Ability to roll up sleeves and be agile in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading transformation efforts in high-growth global organizations
  • Proven track record of success in global commercial leadership roles within the global workforce industry, certification, licensure, testing or related sectors.
  • Proven experience and success driving significant revenue growth, expanding market share, and achieving commercial targets.
