Description

As a Laboratory Technician 2 at the BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Calabasas, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations and providing high-quality phlebotomy services. Your duties will include:

* Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.

* Prepare specimens for analysis.

* Assist in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays.

* Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information.

* Enter and verify patient and test info into computer.

* Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas.

* Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage.

* Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens.

* Provide coverage as necessary to other draw stations.


Salary Range: $32.77 - $43.22/hour

Qualifications

* A current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification.

* High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET).

* Minimum of 2 years of recent experience performing phlebotomy in a high-volume testing laboratory (post receiving CPT certificate).

* Ability to work at other draw stations as needed (e.g. Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch, Thousand Oaks, and Century City).

* Availability to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.

* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.

* Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS).

* Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices, preferred.
