The Role

Mission:

To facilitate growth and profitability of our company's Service organization through strong commitment to the delivery of high-quality customer service to all customers (internal and external). Plus, ensure that the customer's expectations are met or exceeded every time.

The main responsibility for this position is to drive the growth of the PTS service and parts business. This will include service and parts for diesel driven compressors and generators, light towers, pumps, and hand-held equipment. This position is also responsible for developing our company's Service structure and providing improved communication, technical support and service presence. This position is responsible for all Service activities (WIP, Recruiting, Financials) and finding solutions for customer issues occurring on any piece of Atlas Copco equipment in the assigned territory.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and promote the service aspect of our business to generate profitable service revenue, and to maintain customer satisfaction with our equipment.
  • Implement procedures to ensure that all service activities are performed in an organized and structured manner.
  • Manage all service resources as required to achieve targeted goals and objectives.
  • Ensure all technicians and temporary workers participate in competence development activities related to products, technical service and general business acumen.
  • Handle warranty related issues with customers and customer center employees.
  • Supervise and work with technicians in the shop and field to ensure they understand expectations and are performing consistently at a high level.
  • Lead, manage, coach, and train employees in a manner that is consistent with our company's culture and management philosophy.
  • Organize, document and maintain procedures for all Service functions.
  • Create a proactive, resourceful, and self-directed organization, that is able to respond to customer requirements immediately, efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct failure analysis and train technicians and other Regional personnel on failure analysis on any recurring issue at a customer site. Relentlessly pursue solutions until the issue has been resolved.
  • In the absence of other members of the management team, lead other groups in the conduct of Atlas Copco business in the territory (Parts, Sales, Warehousing, etc)

What we expect of you?

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in aftermarket and/or service management is required, including
  • 3-4 years of technical service experience maintaining and repairing compressed air equipment, dewatering pumps (Atlas Copco and other) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a wide variety of portable compressors is strongly preferred.

Education:

A 4-year, bachelor's degree in Business Management or similar; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position supervises a team of shop and field service technicians, including the following:

  • Provides direction, coordination and evaluation of the service center's aftermarket employees.
  • Manages a team of non-supervisory employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and delegating work; appraising performance; recognizing/rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Skills:

Language Ability:

  • English fluency required.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, blue prints, hydraulic schematics, electrical and circuit drawings and diagrams, and governmental regulations.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Able to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.
  • Able to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in variable situations where only limited standardization exists.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of email software; word processing software; spreadsheet software; Accounting software and Contact Management systems, maintenance planning and scheduling software.

Travel:

This position requires limited travel (up to 5%).
