OSI Electronics is seeking a temporary Manufacturing/Process Engineer who will be responsible for developing and sustaining manufacturing processes to meet or exceed the technical requirements while achieving quality, throughput and cost objectives. This individual will lead the implementation of manufacturing processes including, but not limited to facilities, layout, equipment selection and installation, workflow, and process flow. In addition, they will process characterization, process monitoring/control methods, tool selection, and consumables. As well as documentation, training, support, and equipment service/maintenance.


Responsibilities

  • Develop SMT reflow and wave solder temperature profiles and make the necessary adjustments to obtain acceptable solder joints per IPC-A-610 and repeatability of manufacturing processes.
  • Perform time, efficiency and process studies and recommend solutions for improvement of PCB Assemblies.
  • Streamlining manufacturing processes, procedures, work instructions to improve first pass yield, eliminate rework and scrap.
  • Validate SMT and Through-hole processes for all new assemblies.
  • Generate AOI programs using CAD/CSV files.
  • Initiate tooling for SMT and through holes processes. Work with SMT department to improve, solder paste and epoxy stencils printing, pick-n-place, and reflow operations.
  • Interface with manufacturing engineers, customers, vendors, production, and program managers for problem resolution.
  • Handle multiple projects and priorities in a teamwork environment and perform job functions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that direct report(s) are trained and evaluated on their knowledge and adherence to the company's values, Code of Ethics and Conduct, and applicable compliance policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience within a manufacturing setting or related industry.
  • Experience with SMT and Through hole PCB assembly processes. Working knowledge of Screen Printing, Pick-n-Place, Reflow Oven, Temperature Profile, AOI, X-Ray, and Wave Solder Operations.
  • Experience with IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Knowledge of MS office software.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in the business language (English).
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Non telecommuting position; must have a physical presence in the production area on a daily and ongoing basis.
  • Must be US Persons based on ITAR definition (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)*.
