Histotechnologist - Full Time, Days

This position reports to the lead histotechnologist of the histology laboratory, Division of Surgical Pathology. This individual will possess the theoretical and practical expertise to support the operations of a busy histology laboratory. The incumbent maybe asked to assist with short-term and long-term strategic operational planning of a high complexity histology laboratory. They must demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment within a team approach and provide excellent customer service to the faculty and staff of City of Hope National Cancer Center to improve patient outcomes.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Troubleshoot technical, processing, and staining issues.
  • Assist in laboratory maintenance for State, CMS, and CAP inspections, including SOP writing and inspection participation.
  • Develop new laboratory procedures.
  • Manage laboratory inventory and supplies based on LEAN/six sigma principles
  • Possess the skill sets to work within an Electronic LIS

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Associates degree
  • Completion of a certified clinical program in medical laboratory sciences in histopathology or equivalent education /years of experience.
  • ASCP HT or HTL
