Sr. Financial Data Analyst

Responsibilities:
Performing analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data.
Filter Data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problems.
Identify, Analyze, and Interpret patterns and trends in data sets could be helpful for the diagnosis and correction.
Develop data quality monitoring practice scope and capabilities.
Assist in the design of processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
Working with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
Building Power BI reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to improve data models that feed Power BI and increase data accessibility.
Works in a team-based setting to provide financial and operational value-add reports for utilization by executive and field management.
Actively seek out and generate new and innovative ways to retrieve, visualize and analyze data across a variety of operational, geological, and financial data sources
Working with data engineers and various business users to identify process improvement opportunities and propose system modifications.
Lead business requirement sessions with stakeholders eliciting clear and comprehensive requirements for system features and enhancements.
Take lead in Data Cataloging, Lineage, Security and Controls for entire data marketplace.
Develop and execute SQL scripts to test data conversions and perform ad-hoc analysis.
Preparing final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends.
Gain Domain Knowledge and conduct end user training.
Removing corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems
Supports Data and Analytics leadership's work collaborating across the organization to define key performance indicators (KPI's) and build dashboards that support ongoing reporting and analysis of business results.
Identify, address and document areas for process improvement and automation in our data flows.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Computer Science with a focus in quantitative methodologies
8+ years of data analysis experience and strong experience writing complex queries.
4+ years of data management experience
3-4 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst (Finance and Accounting experience a plus).
Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including building and maintaining dashboards.
Advanced proficiency in SQL
Experience writing and managing stored procedures, views, and functions, that rely heavily on analytics functions.
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (Macros, VBA, V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, etc.).
Proficiency with accounting platforms.
Experience in gathering data/reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
Adept at queries, building reports, and making presentations.
Verbal and Written Communication skills.
Ability to communicate ideas in both business and technical terms.
Must be comfortable delivering on multiple priorities concurrently.
Must be proactive, flexible and exhibit the ability to learn quickly.
Keen eye to identify problems, ideate potential solutions, and ultimately resolve problems. Mastery in converting raw data into valuable datasets.
Knowledge of GAAP
